We watch the sky from California's Indian Wells Valley (IWV) in the western Mojave Desert near the Sierra Nevada. Our meetings are held on the first Monday of each month (second Monday if the first is a holiday) at the Maturango Museum

The China Lake Astronomical Society was formed in 1958 by a group of amateur astronomers at the Naval Ordnance Test Station in China Lake, Cal. Now comprised of about 75 members, we hold monthly meetings and public star parties and present shows for schools, scout troops, and civic groups. We also have field trips to places of astronomical interest.
